NEW YORK — New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and quarterback Matt Ryan were the featured stars of the preseason debut of the new Jets and New York State of Mind football commercials, which aired Tuesday night on CBS.
“It’s a new season, and the Jets are a new team,” Ryan said.
“This is what the fans expect from the team.
We know what we’re doing.
This is the Jets.”
The Jets have a new starting quarterback and a new coaching staff.
The team also announced the signing of two free agents: tight end Dwayne Allen and running back Matt Forte.
Ryan’s name was called by coach Todd Bowles on the first play of the first half.
“The Jets’ offensive line is one of the best in the NFL,” Ryan’s agent, Paul Hackett, said.
The New York Times reported that the Jets signed three undrafted free agents who have yet to play for the team: wide receiver Jalen Simmons, linebacker Chris Jones and tight end Evan Engram.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that New York’s first-round draft pick, running back Elijah McGuire, signed with the Dolphins.
